Moser Introduces New Crystal Pieces

At Spring 2008 Tabletop Market

—Presents Limited Edition Vases in Contemporary Style—

STERLING, VA, April 9, 2008…Moser will introduce two European-designed limited edition vases, the “Angel Vase” and “Wings Vase,” along with the “Large Bar Bowl” at the New York Tabletop Market, April 9-13.  These new items will be on display at the Moser showroom located at 41 Madison Avenue on the 10th floor.

“The vases are outstanding examples of Moser’s superior artistry and talent in breathing life into crystal,” remarked Maureen Ellis, director of marketing for Moser in the U.S.  “Contemporary in styling, the gorgeous colors will take your breath away as they reflect a jewel-like intensity.  The crystal bowl is a stunning decorative accessory as well as a distinctive serving piece.”

Designed by Czech artist Jiri Suhájek, the shapes of the Angel Vase (12-inches high) and Wings Vase (12.8-inches high) are enhanced by vibrant colors.  “Angel Vase” is executed in alexandrite and rosalin; “Wings Vase” is aptly named as the side panels resemble “wings,” and are executed in beryl to complement an aquamarine center.  Suggested retail price for the Angel Vase is $6,225; the Wings Vase is $4,675.

Limited to 300 editions each, the vases are signed by the artist and Moser, and come with a Certificate of Authenticity.

Talented artist Jiri Suhájek has designed many other pieces for Moser, including Four Seasons Vases, Iris Vases, Lotus Blossom Bowl and Vase, and the Symphony Vases.  Examples of his work are represented at the Victoria and Albert Museum, London; The Corning Museum of Glass, USA; Hokkaido Museum of Modern Art, Sapporo, Japan; Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague; and in public and private collections.

Moser will also introduce a Large Bar Bowl (11-inch diameter) with cut arched panels at market.  Similar to a prism’s effect, the stunning pattern reflects the light off the panels.  It is attributed to Rudolf Eschler, and was first produced in 1934.  Six exquisite colors include alexandrite, beryl, clear, eldor, rosalin and topaz.  Suggested retail price is $530.

From humble beginnings in 1857 as an engraving studio; throughout the years Moser grew to a factory of international acclaim for its remarkable engravings and brilliant colors inspired by precious stones.  Moser’s pedigree is impeccable, hailing from the Czech Republic’s former region of Bohemia where glass-making began in the 1200s, and by the 1700s was known world-wide as the pinnacle in fine glass and crystal.

Today, Moser is celebrated globally as the jewel of European crystal.  At least 30 crafts people lend their touch to each piece of Moser before it is finished, and each stage in the process is a revelation of the skill and precision that goes into creating Moser.  The Moser hallmark, which is affixed after many quality checks, guarantees a flawless piece of lead-free crystal truly befitting of the line’s distinctive reputation as the jewel of European crystal.

Martin’s Herend Imports, who also imports Herend porcelain, is the exclusive importer and sole distributor of Moser to the U.S.
