Moser Greets 2008 With New Crystal Introductions

—Barware Demonstrates Moser’s Engraving Talents—

STERLING, VA, January 8, 2008…Moser will introduce a barware set and decorative bowl at the Atlanta Gift & Home Furnishings Market, January 8-16.  These new items will be previewed in the Moser showroom in Suite 907 at the Gift Mart.

“Moser kicks off the New Year with the addition of a distinctive barware set to our U.S. core collection,” said Maureen Ellis, director of marketing for Moser in the U.S.  “Each glass in the ‘Birds-of-the-Wild’ barware has a different meticulously engraved composition of a wild bird in its natural habitat, and nature lovers especially will want to add this set to their collection of entertaining accessories.  January’s introductions also include an exquisite decorative bowl with simple lines accentuating the shape.”

The Birds-of-the-Wild Barware consists of a set of six double old fashioned glasses (12 ˝-oz. capacity each) with a different bird engraved on each glass.  It is presented on Moser’s popular whisky shape, designed by Oldrich Lipa in 1968, with a smooth, cylindrical silhouette and a solid bottom.  A Corncrake, Duck, Grey Goose, Grouse, Partridge and Pheasant are the wild birds chosen for each beautifully executed scene.  Moser’s engravers are artists whose artist brush is an engraving wheel which in this case is a copper wheel used to engrave the delicate design.  Imagine the manual dexterity, precision and artistic judgment required to make this pleasing picture.   “Birds-of-the-Wild” is available in Moser’s rich translucent colors as well as clear.  The following birds and colors are available in the color set: Corncrake (Topaz), Duck (Beryl), Grey Goose (Alexandrite), Grouse (Aquamarine), Partridge (Eldor) and Pheasant (Rosalin).  Suggested retail price for a set of six glasses in clear or color is $680.

Enchanted Bowl with its subtle shape (5 ˝-inches wide at its widest point, 2-inches high) is simply enchanting!  Part of a pattern designed in 1961, the clean lines are classic and timeless.  It is available in seven striking colors: Alexandrite, Aquamarine, Beryl, Clear, Eldor, Rosalin and Topaz.  Suggested retail price is $40.

The quality of these crystal pieces and perfection of Moser’s engraving and brilliant colors are unsurpassed by any contemporary glass or crystal company in the world.

Typical Moser colors are melted with the addition of noble earths and metal oxides while aquamarine and topaz are transparent colors, and ocean green and smoke originate in the colors of precious stones.

Founded in 1857, Moser is a leading European crystal manufactory located in the scenic village of Karlovy Vary in the Czech Republic.   Moser’s artistically superior and technically perfect crystal results from a process developed in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.  It employs a unique formula for producing a substance as hard as rock and as brilliant as lead crystal – but without using a trace of lead.  This composition is suitable for Moser’s marvelous engravings such as those captured on the “Birds-in-the-Wild” collection, and is ecologically sound and remains free of all concerns associated with lead.

Martin’s Herend Imports, a family-owned and operated business located in Virginia, is the exclusive importer and sole distributor of Moser in the U.S.
