Moser Introduces Crystal Paperweights

At Atlanta Summer Market

STERLING, VA, July 10, 2007…Moser will introduce crystal Paperweights at the Atlanta International Gift & Home Furnishings Market, July 10-18, which will be on display at the Moser showroom in Suite 907 at the Atlanta Gift Mart.

“We love these new Paperweights available in two styles and several brilliant Moser colors,” commented Maureen Ellis, director of marketing for Moser in the U.S.  “The Engraved Paperweight is an extraordinary example of Moser’s engraving skills while the Bubbles Paperweight is innovative with tiny bubbles rising from its base.  They are elegant and perfect gifts for many occasions.”

Engraved Paperweights (2 ¾-inch diameter) are available in three motifs: an Angel, Butterfly and Owl.  The engraver uses a miniscule copper wheel to engrave these delicate motifs.  Moser’s meticulous engraving work is highly prized by those who know the level of expertise and professionalism it takes to replicate an image into hard crystal.  The Angel Paperweight is available in alexandrite (lavender), aquamarine (blue) and rosalin (rose); the Butterfly Paperweight is available in alexandrite, aquamarine and eldor (yellow); and the Owl is available in aquamarine, ocean green and topaz.  Suggested retail price for each is $60.

An interesting process takes place to create the Bubbles Paperweights.   Fine particles of metal called “swarfs” are added during the melting process and melt into bubbles leaving a trail of “strings” behind which are the unmelted swarfs.  The Bubbles Paperweights come in two sizes: 2 ¼-inches high and 3-inches high and two colors in each size.   The smaller version is available in amethyst with clear, and orange with clear while the larger size is available in alexandrite with clear, and aquamarine with clear.  Suggested retail price for each is $40.

Founded in 1857 in Bohemia (now the Czech Republic), Moser celebrates its 150th anniversary this year.  Throughout its history, Moser has garnered many awards and acclaim at prestigious international art exhibitions for its innovative techniques in facet cutting, artistic engraving and coloring.  The quality of Moser crystal is unsurpassed by any contemporary glass or crystal company in the world.

Founder Ludwig Moser developed the technically perfect crystal production employing a unique formula for producing a substance as hard as rock and as brilliant as lead crystal – but without using a trace of lead. This composition is very suitable for Moser’s marvelous engravings, is ecologically sound and remains free of all concerns associated with lead.

Martin’s Herend Imports, who also imports Herend porcelain, is the exclusive importer and sole distributor of Moser to the U.S.
