Moser Celebrates 150th Anniversary

With Color Stemware Introductions

—Presents Lancelot and Ophelia in Brilliant Color Choices—

STERLING, VA, April 21, 2007…Moser celebrates its 150th anniversary and unveils two popular clear stemware patterns, Lancelot and Ophelia, in a range of dazzling colors.  These new introductions will debut at the New York Tabletop Market, April 21-25.

“Early on Moser established a reputation for creating lead free crystal in extraordinary colors, so it seemed natural to present two contemporary stemware patterns in several color choices to commemorate the 150th anniversary,” remarked Maureen Ellis, director of marketing for Moser in the U.S.  “Moser’s colors are breathtaking and incomparable with each color reflecting a jewel-like intensity.”

Designed by Katerina Dousová, Lancelot is masterful in its design perfection with a beautifully shaped bowl and faceted stem and foot.  Moser offers Lancelot in a clear bowl with stems in four color choices: aquamarine, ocean green, smoke and topaz in addition to clear which is already on the line.   Suggested retail prices: Goblet, Red Wine and Champagne Flute $135 each; White Wine $130.  Ms. Dousová also designed the extraordinary Gema Vase, an amazing visual interplay of shape, color and design.  Her work is at the Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague as well as in public and private collections.

The exquisite Ophelia design is now available in four colors: aquamarine, eldor, ocean green and topaz.  Ophelia’s elegantly flared bowl and hand cut stem won designer Lubos Metalak a “Best Product” award when he created the clear version in 1982 to commemorate Moser’s 125th anniversary.  Mr. Metalak, a prolific designer at Moser from 1962 to 1993, is represented in public and private collections as well at the Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague.  Suggested retail prices: Goblet $130; Red Wine, White Wine and Champagne Flute $120 each.

Founded in 1857, Moser is located in a region in the Czech Republic formerly known as Bohemia and famous for its superior glass-making traditions.  Moser is entirely handmade by experienced glassmakers who embrace an old European craftsmanship

approach to glassmaking.  Throughout its 150 years, Moser has garnered many awards and acclaim at prestigious international art exhibitions for its innovative techniques in facet cutting, artistic engraving and coloring.  Typical Moser colors are melted with the addition of noble earths and metal oxides while aquamarine and topaz are transparent colors, and ocean green and smoke originate in the colors of precious stones.
