Moser Salutes 150th Anniversary Year

With New Barware, Stemware and Figurines in Atlanta

—Introductions Demonstrate Moser’s Color, Design and Engraving Expertise—

STERLING, VA, January 12, 2007…Moser will kick off its 150th anniversary year with the introduction of several new pieces at the Atlanta International Gift & Home Furnishings Market, January 9-17.

“This is a landmark year for the Czech crystal maker who will celebrate the special occasion of its 150th anniversary,” said Maureen Ellis, director of marketing for Moser in the U.S.  “We will rollout news on commemorative limited edition pieces and other highlights later this year.”

A new stemware and barware pattern entitled Vera is designed by Prague artist Petr Vadura who was inspired by his native city.  The design and shape is elegant simplicity.  A plain cut version emphasizes shape while a second interpretation has dramatic vertical cuts at the top of the stem.  Perhaps the artist intended the two versions to reflect day and night in this bustling European city.  Vera Plain is available in a Goblet (11 ½ ounces), Red Wine (8 ½ ounces), White Wine (6 ¾ ounces) and Champagne Flute (6 ½ ounces).  Suggested retail prices are $55 for the White Wine and $60 each for the Goblet, Red Wine and Champagne Flute.  Double Old Fashioned (12 ½ ounces) and Hiball glasses (14 ounces) emphasize the symmetrical shape of the pattern.  Suggested retail price for each bar glass is $55.

Vera Vertical has spectacular vertical cuts incised by a talented glass cutter who executes this design free hand.  It is available in a Goblet, Red Wine, White Wine and Champagne Flute.  Suggested retail prices are $90 for the White wine glass and $95 each for the Goblet, Red Wine and Champagne Flute.

Named for the Greek god of wine, Dionysus, the Dionys Red Wine Set with a decanter (42 ½ ounces) and two glasses (25 ounces each and 9 ¾-inches high) is a tribute to the art of drinking wine.  A glass funnel comes with the decanter to allow for decantation, a process reserved for wines with sediment and immature wines whose bouquet develops after exposure to oxygen.  Moser paid particular attention to the size

and shape of the glass, providing a tall stem to prevent hands from warming the wine too quickly and a bowl big enough to observe the color and purity of the wine.  The gift boxed set is suggested to retail for $390.

Moser is famous for its engraving proficiency which is beautifully demonstrated in the new Ocean Life Barware executed on Moser’s Whisky pattern shape.  Six exquisite and different marine still lives are meticulously engraved on the Double Old Fashioned (12 ½ ounces) and Hiball glasses (13 ½ ounces).  Each striking motif replicates elements from the sea including pools of fish and seaweed.  The miniature aquatic art barware is available in six colorways: Alexandrite, Aquamarine, Beryl, Eldor and Rosalin as well as Clear.  The skillfully engraved pattern is available as open stock or boxed sets of six.  Suggested retail price for each Double Old Fashioned is $105, and a set of six is $650; the Hiball is $105 each or a set of six is $665.

Moser will add a clear Decanter (1 quart size) in its popular Pebbles pattern at the January market.  The engraved “Pebbles” pattern looks like small stones clustered in the lower third of the piece leaving the remaining two thirds clear.  Two different engraving wheels are used by the engraver, one to define the pattern, and the other to polish it. Suggested retail price is $480.

Two adorable figurines will be unveiled at the Atlanta market, a Bunny (2 ½-inches tall, 2 ¾-inches wide) and a Pig (2 ½-inches tall, 3-inches wide).  These new introductions are available in Aquamarine, Clear and Rosalin colors.  Suggested retail price for each is $75.

Founded in 1857, Moser is located in a region in the Czech Republic formerly known as Bohemia and famous for its superior glass-making traditions.  Throughout its 150 years, Moser has garnered many awards and acclaim at prestigious international art exhibitions for its innovative techniques in cutting, engraving and coloring.  The glassmaker’s reputation was further enhanced through an affiliation with the famous Vienna Workshop which provided an opportunity to execute the designs of Josef Hoffmann.  Many of these Hoffmann designed pieces are in museums and collections around the world.  These achievements earned Moser the patronage of royalty throughout Europe, a privilege that the talented glassmaker still enjoys.  The Moser hallmark which is affixed after many quality checks assures the ultimate user of a flawless piece of crystal.
